Frequently Asked Friday: Part 6

Buying a standing desk can be a big decision that requires a good bit of research. At VARIDESK, we get a lot of questions about our desks, accessories, health benefits, and more. To help you out during your research process, we’ve created Frequently Asked Friday, a series created to answer common questions surrounding VARIDESK, standing while you work, and office wellness in general!

What is the best desk for working from home?

If you are working from home, but don’t really have a designated office or space you work in, we would definitely recommend the Soho. The Soho is big enough for a laptop and mouse and portable enough to move into any room you please.

If you to have an office at home that you consistently work in, the Pro Plus Series, our best-selling desk, is always a great option. It fits on your existing desk and is compact, yet will hold your monitor, laptop, mouse, and keyboard comfortably!

How tall should my desk be while I’m standing?

To be at a proper ergonomic height, your elbows should be at about a 90 degree angle while typing. If you are having to reach down slightly to type, you might need to raise your desk, or, if it is at it’s maximum height, you might need our Exec Series desk. This desk is made to accommodate users over 6 feet tall.

Are there any accessories I should get with my desk?

With every desk purchase, we always recommend you add on an anti-fatigue mat too. While it is possible to stand without one, it is not pretty. After a few hours of standing the first day, your feet will know what we’re talking about. By using an anti-fatigue mat, you can stand much longer and more comfortably.

We also highly recommend monitor arms that help adjust your screen to its ergonomic height and free up more space on your desktop, as well as the VARIChair that allows you to take a break and keep moving weather you are in the sitting or standing position.

How durable are the desks/what are they made out of?

Our desks are made out of a high density, industrial plastic and are build to last for the long haul. They are very resistant against cracks and scratches, and hold large amounts of weight so there’s no need to worry.

In the off chance that something does break or become damaged, contact us immediately and we will get you a replacement as fast as we can!

How much assembly is required for the Pro Desk 60?

Our only product that requires any assembly is the Pro Desk, but we use the term “assembly” very loosely. The only thing you have to do is screw on the 4 legs and you’re done! No tools required.
